We are currently seeking an Actuarial Pricing Analyst to join our client's team in their London office. The primary goal is the improvement of underwriting decisions to affect underwriting performance. The successful candidate will share their knowledge with the wider team and ensure the team's analytical analysis is first rate.

This role has the ability to work across different functions within their business; this is what makes it such a unique opportunity. You role could contain technical pricing, claims reserving, data analytics, visualisation and data administration.

You'll need to have sound judgement, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability see the bigger picture; attention to details and strong analytical skills are a must.

Key Accountabilities:

Deliver and maintain pricing, reserving and analytical solutions for all underwriting lines
Recommend initiatives to enhance underwriting profitability
Measure impact of underwriting actions, rate change, renewal retention, new and lost business
Support the collection and maintenance of pricing/reserving data
Present and promote our pricing/reserving approach to insurance capacity peer group actuaries
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, reporting and documented procedure for workflow management
Keep abreast of industry initiatives, new pricing/reserving/visualisation methods and best practice
Support the business planning process through loss ratio projection and analysis
Support exposure and accumulation control methodologies
Design, develop and manage data load processes to ensure the delivery accurate, clean data to key stakeholders
Optimise database integrity and security
Ensure data quality is to the highest standard, reconciled and fit for purpose.
Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes
Act in accordance with agreed service standards and report complaints effectively in line with the company's professional standards manual

Person Specification:

Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics or related field
Progress toward FIA qualification
Understanding of actuarial reserving and pricing techniques
Ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions
Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to manage large data sets
2/3+ years' experience in non-life personal lines and/or commercial lines pricing or reserving
Analytical mind set with the ability to develop solutions necessary to solve complex problems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, meeting common goals with colleagues across matrix environments
Ability to plan and organise work to meet targets and deadlines
Ability to use negotiation and persuasion in order to achieve solutions to complex situations, both internally and externally
