Our Client, a leading Lloyds syndicate, is searching for a bright and presentable actuarial analyst to join their divisional pricing team.

The structure of the team:

Head of pricing

10-15 Actuaries (where this role sits)

Benefits of the role:
  • Very varied due to divisional structure – offers exposure into all areas of the business: all aspects of the pricing process, reserving, capital modelling teams as well as reinsurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Individual risk & outwards reinsurance pricing
  • Price specific cases in Specialty & Financial Lines
  • Actively build relationships with underwriters and seek areas where the pricing team can add value
  • Provide actuarial input into the pricing and structure of reinsurance programmes
  • Recommend ongoing data requirements to improve future pricing
  • Discuss current pricing methods and rate monitoring with regulators and rating agencies
  • Use the business plan and capital model output to set profitability targets by class of business and monitor pricing model output against these targets
  • Develop the link between pricing knowledge and the reserving process and feed reserving results into pricing
Skills & Experience:
  • 2-3 years London experience (at least 1 year pricing)
  • 2:1 or above in a numerate subject
  • Strong A-level results
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel, VBA, @Risk and SQL
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
Also Offers:
  • Study package is 40 days leave, cover for exams, tutorials and material – must meet requirements of scheme though which is passing so many each year, etc.
